WINTER CONCERTS: RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER - Jazz Ensemble kicks off the winter concert season on February 8 with Choir, Orchestra, Band, and Dance following soon after. Visit the Performing Arts website for a calendar that includes all performance dates and times.

 

YORK ALBUM PROJECT WINTER RELEASE - Still in Pieces will be available on Monday, February 7, to stream on Spotify, Apple Music, and all other streaming platforms under the artist name York Album Project. You'll also be able to stream or download the album from Bandcamp at yorkalbumproject.bandcamp.com. The album includes 12 original tracks written and performed by York students. Learn more about the York Album Project, including a sneak peek at the artist/track list for this latest release.

 

LIVE THEATER IS BACK! - Tickets are on sale now for York Drama's latest production. York has been given the rare opportunity to be the high school pilot of Ace, a new musical adventure nearly two decades in the making.

York Music Boosters proudly offers financial assistance to support a wide variety of creative endeavors. Grant and scholarship applications are available now. Download an application today!

  • Grants: Available to students in 9th - 12th grade who wish to pursue enrichment opportunities above and beyond what they're learning in class. For example, recent grants have been approved for recording software, vocal coaching sessions, and special strings needed for a school concerto performance. Typical grant amount is approximately $100.

  • Summer Music Camp Scholarships: Available to students in 9th - 11th grade for attending a music camp during the summer of 2022. Camps can be local, long distance, virtual, or private teacher camps. For example, recent scholarships have been approved for Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, Elmhurst University's Summer Band Camp, and Birch Creek Summer Music Academy. Scholarship amounts vary from year to year based on YMB budget and number of applicants.

 

CONCERT RECORDINGS - Click here to find out how you can order CDs of recent band, orchestra, and choir concerts. York Music Boosters members at the Concerto Level receive a free CD voucher as a membership benefit. Vouchers were sent via email. Please contact Mary Young if you have questions about membership or vouchers.

 

NEWSLETTER NOW AVAILABLE IN SPANISH - We have added a text-only version of the newsletter to our website. This version can be automatically translated into Spanish and other languages through the translator menu at the bottom right of the screen.

 

MORE GOOD NEWS

  • This year's YMB Holiday Greens Sale and Pizza Coupon Sale, along with the Community Cleanup Event (organized by Mr. Pavlik) helped students earn more than $10,000 in escrow. Funds were applied immediately for students traveling for the upcoming Band trip to New Orleans and Orchestra trip to Madison.

  • We are in awe of our community's generosity and kindness. We thank the anonymous donors who earmarked dollars for band students traveling to New Orleans. The donations fully funded several students who required financial assistance. And, the remainder was split evenly among all other Band students going on the trip who still had a balance due in their accounts in December.
