COURSE SELECTION PROCESS FOR 18-19 SCHOOL YEAR
Counselors will begin the 2018-2019 course request process on Wednesday, January 10th. All students will attend an informational meeting during their PE/Health/Driver’s Education/Athletic Study Hall/Lunch (if no PE). Counselors will review the course selection process with all Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors.
The following schedule provides the week in which your student will meet individually with his/her counselor to complete their course requests for the 2018-2019 school year. Students are required to have a parent signature on their course selection worksheet before meeting individually with their counselor.
Juniors: January 16 – 19
- Senior Course Selection Worksheet
- Special Note – The first day of meetings is after the 3 day weekend – please discuss course selections over our Martin Luther King Break.
Sophomores: January 23 - 29
Freshmen: January 30 - February 5
- Sophomore Course Selection Worksheet
- This year, Freshmen will be completing their course selection process through their Class of 2021 Google Classroom that they have used as part of their FOG class. Freshmen will need to bring their Chromebooks to course selection and submit their course selection worksheet after their individual meeting with their counselor.
Make up meetings will be February 20 – 23. Course Requests will be closed on Friday, February 23. Upon the conclusion of the Course Request Process you will receive an email with your student’s course selections. At that time students and families will have until March 1st to notify counselors of any clerical errors. Course selections will be considered final on March 1, 2018. After that date, schedule changes will only be made after April 15th, based on course availability.
Our goal is for each student to be able to succeed and be challenged academically to his/her own particular level of ability. Students are encouraged to take the most rigorous courses appropriate for them. Please consider the entire schedule when making course selections as it is important to consider a balanced approach to academic, social and extracurricular commitments.
