  • Hey York! As prom quickly approaches, Empower wants to ensure that everyone has a safe and fun time. Remember….. Consent is defined when one person voluntarily agrees to the proposal or desires of another. There should be a clear and verbal yes from your partner. Please remember boundaries and keep in mind that people might feel uncomfortable with various actions. Look out for your friends, make sure they aren’t in any uncomfortable situations. No means no, regardless of who it is or your history with them. Also, don’t be pressured into doing something that you do not want to do. If you see any suspicious actions, please report them to a chaperone nearby. Have fun at Prom! Make sure to look for our advocacy posters around the school! Love, Empower
