VDay is coming . . . and we’re not talking about voter registration, roses, boxes of chocolate, or valentines. According to the United Nations, 1 in 3 women worldwide have experienced sexual or physical violence in their lifetime. V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. Started in 1998, it’s a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day works to generate broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation, and trafficking. Join EMPOWER this Friday on Valentine’s Day and wear all black while sporting a red letter V so we can work together to end violence against women across the globe. Love, EMPOWER
