  • Calling all freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior boys! Do you want to show your badminton skills in an all boys tournament? Take part in this sport that approximately 1.2 million Americans play by signing up for the BadMANton tournament on This Is York. We’ll see you in the gym on Wednesday, December 12th, at 6:30 p.m.!
  • Are you looking for service hours?  Look no further....the Athletic Office is looking for student volunteers to work the Jack Tosh Holiday Classic Boys' Basketball Tournament.  This is a great opportunity to earn service hours over winter break.  The dates of the tournament are December 26th through the 31st.

  • Attention Freshmen and Sophomores! Have you been to Spain? How about Switzerland? Do you have an interest in travel? What about sports, wellness, and leadership? If so, then please join us on an international adventure in July of 2020 where you’ll have the unique opportunity to attend and participate in the Global Leadership Summit in Switzerland after spending a week in Spain. If you’ve got room in your passport for two new stamps, then please plan to attend the MANDATORY parent/student informational meeting on Tuesday December 11th at 6:00 pm in the auditorium. At that time, you’ll receive all the necessary information about the international trip and you’ll even be able to sign up then, too. Please RSVP to the event at: http://bit.ly/YorkSwitzerland2020.   • Today is Thursday, December 6th, which means that after today you will only have 6 days left to take any tests that remain in the TMC.  Please take these assessments immediately.  The testing center gets packed after schools so please ensure yourself a spot please sign up on the LC web page.  The final day to test is Friday, December 14th.  Also, don't forget -- no student ID, no test!
  • York Apparel OPEN HOUSE:  Thursday, Dec 13th 11-2:30pm and 7-8:30pm, York HS  Looking for York Duke Apparel for holiday gifts?  Here is your chance for easy shopping!  The York Athletic Boosters are bringing the entire inventory of York Apparel and school swag to the lobby of Door 1 (Academic Wing) of York High School for easy shopping for you.  Browse through everything the bookstore has available – traditional hoodies, joggers, T-shirts, quarter zips, cozy flannel pants, and joggers, hats, baseball caps, gloves, socks, blankets, string backpacks and even Holiday ornaments. Great gifts for any age –current students or future Dukes. Thursday December 13th from 11:00-2:30pm and 7-8:30pm. Please park in the bus lanes and follow our signs to Door #1, York Academic Building.   • The next Best Buddies next will be on Thursday, December 6th to watch our fellow Best Buddies members in the Special Olympics basketball game!  The game will start at 4:15 in the Campbell gym!  Meet us there! 
  • York Model United Nations continued it's 2018-19 campaign with another highly successful conference.  York sent 19 delegates to the highly competitive Canadian-American Security Councils in Lansing Michigan last Friday and Saturday.  The York delegates' diplomatic skills were on full display with Danny Reidinger, NIck Pomatto, Alex Norgle, and Noah Fine receiving Highest Honors, and Maddy Small receiving Second Honors.  The 2018-19 season has been one for the ages thus far.  Keep it rolling York Model UN! 
  • Interact Club is collecting mittens and gloves for the children at Onward Neighborhood House.  Please consider donating new mittens and gloves (preschool size) to the mitten tree on the counter in the Student Services Center.
  • We will accept donations until Friday December 14.  Thank you!
  • Hey York! Do you love to write? Are you an aspiring writer that wants to get their works seen by other students? Do you just like to chill and write poems and short stories with your friends? If you said yes to any of these questions then be sure to come to York Mirrors’ writing workshop on Monday, December 10th in A337. Bring some drafts for feedback or start something new! See you there!
  • All boys interested in joining track and are not in a winter sport should come to a preseason meeting on Tuesday December 11th.  We will meet in room A322.  If you are unable to attend, please email Coach Kern.
  • York Relay for Life "Paint the Gym Purple and Pack the Gym"  night on Saturday, December 8th.  Students should wear purple to school on Friday.
  • There will be a pasta party for the York student cheer section at 5:00 pm in the cafeteria.  Come out and support the fight against cancer and cheer for our boys and girls basketball teams.
