York Community High School

General Information

Steps to complete York High School Registration

Each student must complete the following steps to successfully register for the start of school:

  1. Residency Verification
Parents/guardians of all incoming 9th graders (and any York student who does not have a current lease on file) must provide documents to the high school to verify residency. Click here for the list of valid documents.

  2. InfoSnap (District 205 online registration)
Parents must begin the registration process by going online and updating their student’s information using the District 205registration website: www.elmhurst205.org/InfoSnap. At the beginning of May, InfoSnap emails (or letters if there is no email address on file) were sent to all families. Please note that families must complete InfoSnap prior to proceeding with the high school registration process.

For families without Internet access, computers will be available to complete InfoSnap during book sales in August. Families with questions regarding the online registration process may call 630-617-2458.

  3. Textbooks, Chromebooks & Fees
Textbook prices and course fees will be available on our Bookstore website by June 17, 2016. Please be aware that we are currently working to convert several texts to digital formats which will be accessed by students on their Chromebooks.

All incoming freshman as well as new students to District 205 will be required to purchase a Chromebook for $300.00 during booksales through the bookstore.

Any junior who selected the $169.00 alternate payment option for their Chromebook last August will be charged the $63.00 installment during booksales. These students will be required to return their Chromebook in working condition at the end of the school year to receive a credit of $60.00. (Students will be able to keep the Chromebook if the balance of the purchase price is paid.)

  4. Book Sales and Student Information Pick-Up:
The final step of the registration process requires York students to purchase textbooks and Chromebooks, pay fees, take a yearbook photo, and pick up handbooks, IDs, and student schedules. This process is completed in person during the hours listed below. Please note: families on vacation during book sales can purchase books and complete the York registration process in the Bookstore beginning August 11 & 12. Make-up yearbook photos will be taken on September 13 and 14.

Financial Assistance Information
There are several options available for families in need of financial assistance:

  • District Financial Assistance for Student Fees and Books – Families that meet guidelines established by the District can receive assistance with fees, Chromebook and book costs. To receive assistance, the Request for Financial Assistance form must be completed and returned to the District Office with the required supporting documentation. After July 1 these forms can be found on the District 205 registration website or in the York Principal’s Office.

  • Free and Reduced Lunch – Families that meet the federal guidelines are entitled to free or reduced lunch. To receive assistance, the Free and Reduced Lunch form must be completed and returned to the District Office. The form will be available after July 1 on the District 205 registration website or in the York Principals’ Office.

  • YSET – a dedicated group of community members have formed the York Student Enrichment Team (YSET) to assist families with financial need to help cover the costs associated with course fees and extracurricular activities. The YSET application will be available on the YSET website beginning October 1. Families applying for YSET are encouraged to first apply for District financial assistance.

Information about all of these options will be available during book sales, by calling 630-617-2458, or by emailing accessyork@elmhurst205.org.
